About this course:

What is Agile?

Contrary to the known definition of Agile popular among the general population, agile is not a methodology or process of software development.

It is a stock of values and rules that provide a foundation to teams when aiming for exceptional software development results. Agile Manifesto was created in 2001 by 17 software development professionals. This was created in order to tackle the growing challenges that were facing the software developers as changing business needs occurred constantly.

The Agile Manifesto stresses upon the rules of quick delivery, constant improvement, adaptive planning, breakdown of tasks in simple form, and productive team integration and interaction. Fundamentally, it is about being agile in adapting to changes in developing software.

How to Use Agile in Offshore Development?

It is most commonly argued that it is impossible for agile and offshore development to work side-by-side. Software teams that choose agile for projects always avoid outsourcing. In their opinion, agile cannot work if used external to the main location.

This is expected as having another team from a different culture, time zone, and location can prove as handy if the values and principles in agile are to be strictly followed.

But, is it really needed to choose any one of them and not just simply amalgamate them together? Having 9+ years of experience in agile offshore development, we believe that agile development can be outsourced — but only when it is done in the right manner.
